That said, being fluent in both languages isn't enough to be a great translator. However, I'm also a language professional.
For 16 years, I've been an editor, proofreader, translator, and interpreter. First for my previous freelance editing business, Pure Text (primarily fiction and business), and then as a Spanish–English medical interpreter and translator for clinics and hospitals across New England, USA.
This means I deliver not only translated copy, but a high-quality translation that is mindful of grammar, syntax, spelling, and more.
3. Real-World Experience
Apart from living in the US, I have real-world knowledge of English from all over the world thanks to working with my previous editing clients, who were from the US, UK, and Australia, among other places.
